This is the longest FLL route we run, and we won't pretend otherwise: 35 miles and about 50 minutes, mostly because Key Biscayne sits south of Miami proper across the Rickenbacker Causeway. If you're comparing it to flying into MIA, MIA is faster to Key Biscayne - but plenty of travelers book FLL anyway for the fare, and this page is for you.

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and the residential enclaves off Crandon Boulevard are where most of this traffic lands. The causeway toll is built into your fare already - you won't get a surprise line item at drop-off, and your driver isn't stopping to fumble for cash or a transponder.

Because the drive runs through downtown Miami before crossing the causeway, timing matters more here than on our shorter routes. We factor rush hour into the estimate we give you rather than quoting the best-case number and letting you find out otherwise on I-95.
